VS Code extension
SafeLite: SQLite Viewer
Browse SQLite databases in VS Code without risking your data. SafeLite is read-only by default, opens databases of hundreds of MB in under a second, and needs no native modules.

Measured
- 224 MB database with 1.2 million rows: first rows on screen in under 1 second in VS Code 1.95.3 and 1.142.
- Any page, including the last one, in 1-2 ms. Sorting 1.2 million rows on an unindexed column takes about 1-2 seconds.
- Memory: about 1.1 times the file size while browsing. Closing the tab frees it.
Features
- Read-only by default. The file is opened with SQLite's
query_onlyswitch on. - Tables, views and a schema panel: columns, indexes, foreign keys and triggers.
- Virtualized, paged grid for millions of rows. Sort, filter, search and jump to row.
- Run SELECT, WITH, VALUES, PRAGMA and EXPLAIN. Export any table, view or query result to CSV.
- WAL databases show their latest committed data. Nothing is written to disk.
- Optional write mode: every change is confirmed, and a timestamped backup copy is saved before each write.
- Does not take over
.dbfiles. Open a file with right-click, Open in SafeLite SQLite Viewer, or Reopen Editor With. - No telemetry and no network access.
