SafeLite: SQLite Viewer privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026 · DigiVibeTech, Amersfoort, the Netherlands
SafeLite: SQLite Viewer is a VS Code extension that shows SQLite database files on your computer.
- No data collection. The extension collects, stores and sends no personal data, database contents, queries, usage statistics or telemetry.
- No network access. The extension makes no network requests. The SQLite engine (sql.js, SQLite compiled to WebAssembly) is bundled with the extension and loaded from disk.
- Local processing only. The database you open, and its
-walfile if there is one, is read into memory inside VS Code while the tab is open. Closing the tab frees it. - Read-only by default. The extension writes to a database only after you turn on write mode and confirm each change. Before every write it saves a backup copy of the file, next to the file or in the folder you choose. The extension never deletes these backups.
- Files you create. CSV exports and backup copies are written only to locations you choose or configure.
- Third parties. None at runtime. sql.js (MIT licence) and SQLite (public domain) run locally. VS Code, the Visual Studio Marketplace and Open VSX have their own privacy terms.
