Markdown Export & llms.txt for Confluence
Export Confluence pages and spaces to clean Markdown and llms.txt for AI tools.
Turn Confluence content into clean, portable Markdown in one click. Export a single page for free, or export a whole space or page tree as a zip of .md files with attachments and YAML front-matter. Generate an llms.txt / llms-full.txt so ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and RAG pipelines can read your docs.
Install
- Find "Markdown Export & llms.txt for Confluence" on the Atlassian Marketplace, or in Confluence open the apps administration and search for it. (Marketplace link coming soon.)
- A Confluence administrator approves the install. The app requests read-only scopes only:
read:page:confluence, read:space:confluence, read:attachment:confluence. - The app is available for Confluence Cloud.
Export a page
One-click page export (free): download or copy any page as Markdown with front-matter.
On any page, open the ••• (more actions) menu and choose Export to Markdown. Then download the .md file or copy the Markdown.
Example front-matter:
---
title: "Onboarding guide"
confluence_id: "123456789"
space: "ENG"
version: 7
updated: "2026-10-01T09:30:00.000Z"
source: "https://yoursite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ENG/pages/123456789/Onboarding+guide"
---
Export a space or page tree
Bulk export with attachments: a whole space or any page tree becomes a folder tree of .md files with working relative links and images.
Open Markdown & llms.txt export in the space sidebar. The result downloads as a zip in your browser, with attachments in an _attachments/ folder, front-matter on every page (including parent_id), links between pages rewritten to relative .md links, and a README.md summary.
llms.txt output
llms.txt generator: standards-based llms.txt index and llms-full.txt for AI assistants and RAG.
llms.txt: a compact index following the llms.txt convention: space title, summary and a linked list of pages.llms-full.txt: the full Markdown content of the space's pages in one file, ready for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or a RAG pipeline.
Both are generated from the space page of the app.
